A properly serviced instrument can help you realise your full musical potential!

At Crowthers we have expert on-site repairers with extensive experience from major instrument manufacturers, including Lorée. Our workshop caters for a wide variety of repair and servicing requirements from minor adjustments, tenon and crook recorks and on-the-spot repairs, up to full overhauls.

We have looked after instruments for leading musicians such as Nicholas Daniel (oboe), Alison Teale (oboe and cor anglais, BBC Symphony), Matthew Manning (oboe, formerly RTE Orchestra), James Turnbull (oboe).

In addition our workshop caters for other musicians and we have serviced instruments belonging to John Harle (saxophone), Paul Booth (saxophone), John Surman (saxophone), Dave Winthrop (saxophone). We are regularly asked to undertake work for schools around the country. We regularly attend Double Reed events across the country. Oboes and cors anglais are sent to us from professional and amateur players alike across the UK and abroad.

We recommend your instrument is serviced annually to keep it in best playing order. We are happy to provide a detailed assessment free of charge, and we will recommend a course of action to get the best result.

All instruments are thoroughly checked in our workshop prior to being offered for sale, and we offer a free six month service on all new instruments, and provide a service record with 10% loyalty discount on all servicing and repairs for the instrument’s life.

You are welcome to visit the shop with your instrument, however we are also happy to accept instruments for service or repair by post. Please let us know in advance if you would like to do this.
